Lucca Comics & Games, the famous festival dedicated to comics, games and entertainment brightened up the city of Lucca from 30 October to 3 November. In the Lucca Junior section, INFN participated, as in previous years, with the children’s project INFN Kids, setting up an exhibition area and running a number of workshops in collaboration with Rome Technopole. In the setting of the historic Real Collegio, at the INFN Kids stand, children were able to enjoy colouring the particles of the Standard Model and reading the new issue of the comic strip series Leo&Alice, “Leo e Alice discovering tastes”. Throughout the festival, INFN Kids researchers proposed two workshops: “Make yourself comfortable: space-time travel!” to take children on a space adventure to discover stars, galaxies, black holes and gravitational waves, and “It’s not magic… it’s science!”, a workshop for little science-magicians that teaches a number of magic tricks which are actually based on science! Once again, INFN Kids activities at Lucca Comics&Games were well attended this year, reaching around 300 participants in the workshop activities and more than 3,000 people who visited the stand.
