70INFN - SYMPHONY FROM THE UNIVERSE TO THE GRAN SASSO NATIONAL LABORATORIES

70anni lngs

On 21 June at 6 pm at the Auditorium del Parco in L’Aquila, the INFN Gran Sasso National Laboratories will celebrate 35 years since their foundation with the event Sinfonie dall’Universo (Symphonies from the Universe). The event, developed as part of the celebrations for the INFN’s 70th anniversary, will feature the director of the Laboratories Ezio Previtali and INFN president Antonio Zoccoli on stage, together with orchestra director Peppe Vessicchio. The dialogue, moderated by science journalist Silvia Bencivelli, will alternate orchestral music composed and conducted by Vessicchio, and interpreted through live sand artwork. Sinfonie dall’Universo will trace the history of the Laboratories, from the goals achieved, to the frontiers of knowledge highlighting its links with the territory, through the intervention of three young researchers from the Laboratories and the participation of some local musicians.

The celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the INFN will continue in June with two other events, the first organised by the Milan INFN Division, one of the founding Division of the organisation, and the second by the Pavia INFN Division, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
